Shining at school

All four of our matric learners (pictured above) were successful in their year end exams, and we are so proud of them.

Since the start of the pandemic, learners throughout the country have struggled with school closures, remote learning and rotational attendance, which resulted in them losing over 50 per cent of learning time.

Add to this the fact that most of our children are already behind at school; before being placed with us, they either didn’t attend school on a regular basis, or they lacked any kind of support at home. So these achievements are all the more admirable.

Fortunately, our matrics were able to enjoy a special year end function, despite the ongoing restrictions. There was much excitement here, preparing for the big day and lots of sponsors who helped out. Thanks to Bella Nails and Khetiwe for doing the girls’ hair. Everyone looked lovely and the evenings were a great success!
