From the Managing Director’s Desk

As we begin another year, I extend my very best wishes to you and your family. May 2022 bring new opportunities and blessings to you all. We have begun the year filled with optimism and faith that, with your continued support, we can continue to provide all the love, care and opportunities for development that our children need.

Sincere thanks to everyone who has supported us with financial donations or much needed items for the children, such as food, stationery and clothing. These greatly reduce our expenses and are much appreciated. The children were truly blessed over the festive season, when they received wonderful gifts of toys and clothing. You can see their reactions for yourself elsewhere in this newsletter.

It’s such a pleasure to be able to share these lovely stories of fun events and impressive achievements. Our children did us proud – each worked hard to do the best they could. We are especially proud of our four matric learners who passed their final exams. We trust that their journey ahead will be filled with even more success.

If nothing else, the challenges of the past two years forced us to press ahead with the development of our social enterprises. These aim not only to make our organisation more self sustainable, but to also expose the children to new opportunities and prepare them for success in the world of work. Read more about these projects on page 3. Please do support our social enterprises – our blueberry jam is delicious!

In everything we do we feel the reassurance of your loyal support. Thank you for remaining committed to The Johannesburg Children’s Home throughout the past difficult year. When we look back we are filled with gratitude; we feel as though we have been carried on the wings of your prayers, and God has been faithful to the orphans and vulnerable children in our care.

Thank you again to everyone who has helped us in kind, in time, and with donations.
