"Are we nearly there yet?"

When you have a 'family' of 64 boys and girls, taking groups of them to the dentist ... sports day ... counselling and extra lessons ... outings and shopping ... can be a bit of a challenge!

We need a car that can carry more than the usual number of passengers - without being a nightmare to park! Something like a Toyota Avanza - which seats seven comfortably, as well as being reliable and economical to run.

But even though it's one of the cheapest options, it still costs R224 600. And, with our children needing so many other things, we just don't have that kind of money. It seemed impossible.

But if just 450 people each gave R500, we'd have the money. All we have to do is find those 450 special people. Please will you be one of the first to join in by making your donation online now?

If you can't give R500, will you consider contributing R250? And perhaps ask your friends to chip in too? With such a big target we need all the help we can get and every donation - large or small - will bring us a step closer to making this dream a reality.

Of course, if you feel you could manage a bigger 'share' in the car - by donating R1000 or even R2000 - to would mean that we can buy it even if we can't find 450 others to join in.

But it's not really about a car. It's about being able to travel together in a group - especially in stressful situations where siblings want to be together for moral support ... like when they have to appear in the children's court.

This can be a scary time for the little ones, and they want their social worker and house mother by their side throughout the process.

But we can't do it without help from caring people like you.

So please will you make your donation now and be part of making our dream come true.

How to help

Bringing up a child is expensive! And when you have a 'family' of 64, every extra bit of cash helps.

Order delicious party platters at reasonable rates ... or make use of our laundry service.

If you can spare an hour or two a week, please consider volunteering at our Home?

Check out our 'wish list' for items needed right now. Or contact us for more information.

Download the free app (Android, iPhone or Blackberry) and scan our code to donate safely and easily.

Run a marathon ... enter a cycle race ... or help our kids by asking friends to donate to JCH instead of buying you a birthday or anniversary gift.
